Wisdom is Love

"Wisdom is a deep understanding and realization of people, things, events or situations, resulting in the ability to apply perceptions, judgements and actions in keeping with this understanding. It often requires control of one's emotional reactions so that universal principles, reason and knowledge prevail to determine one's actions. Wisdom is also the comprehension of what is true coupled with optimum judgment as to action."

The lack of applied wisdom in personal choices, public policy and business management underscores the majority of structural failures and problems in human society. Since society is just made of people, this means that there is a lack of wisdom in the world. Why?

Evil

"Evil is the conscious and deliberate wrongdoing, discrimination designed to harm others, humiliation of people designed to diminish their psychological well-being and dignity, destructiveness, motives of causing pain or suffering for selfish or malicious intentions, and acts of unnecessary or indiscriminate violence that are not legitimate acts of self-defense but aggressive and designed to cause ill-being to others."

Evil is translated into reality by virtue of broken toxic negative thoughts that inform toxic choices translated into the physical world with dysfunctional behaviors.

Good

Good is a broad concept about life, charity, happiness, love, prosperity and justice.

Nice is Easier

Notice how the Good solution is far more simple than the Evil problems. Toxic thinking is complicated. “Oh what a tangled web we weave, When first we practice to deceive” said Sir Walter Scott, a quotation my lovely partner Meg brings us when we are discussing ethics.

Everyone a Hypocrite

No one is perfect. Perfection is completely impossible for a person. We are the products of other people that came before us. Look at human history, riddled with examples of waste, ignorance, hatred, war, genocide, murder, theft, rape, destruction, inequity, bigotry and failures. If people in the past chose to embrace positive thinking we would probably be an intergalactic species with complete mastery of energy production, population control, sustainable food production and waste stream recycling. If everyone was focusing on the positive and living according to God's loving word, we could have a Utopia.

Hindering Thoughts

Our failure to embrace positive perspectives has hindered society with toxic broken thinking. The hindering effect of broken thought processes and toxic thinking has a long historical legacy that extends throughout the known history of human society. The fall of Man brought with it struggling, pain, misery, injustice, inequity and premature death. Our salvation from the broken state of human society can be found individually by simply embracing God's infinite love and grace through salvation in his Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Loving Others

Society and our wold is truly what we choose to make of it. God has given us the opportunity  to embrace God's Love though free willed faith. We are called to love other people, especially showing love to those who hate us or hurt us, as they are broken and sick, in desperate need of help from loving people.

We are called to bring other people to God by showing them love. God will give us the strength where we see only weakness. God will turn the impossible possible if we are working to share his Kingdom of Salvation through Christ with others. God will make a way where we cannot imagine one.  God will turn our enemies into our allies if we show them love.

This God, my God, that I speak of, is a huge, massive, star breathing, infinitely intelligent, ever pressent and all powerful God that can do anything he wants. He tells us exactly how he works in the universe through the bible.

Wisdom is Love

God repeatedly calls on his followers to embrace wisdom. If we examine the definition of love according to the world of God, it should become immediately obvious how wisdom and love are inextricably connected.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."

Alter Bridge's "Before Tomorrow Comes"

I couldn't sleep I had to listen
To a conscience knowing so well
That nothing comes from indifference
I look inside of myself

Will I find some kind of conviction?
Will I bid the hero farewell?
Will I be defined by things that could have been?
I guess time will only tell
I guess time will only tell

So don't let it be
Before tomorrow comes
Before you turn away
Take the hand in need
Before tomorrow comes
You could change everything

I curse my worth and every comfort
That blinded me for way too long
Damn it all I'll make a difference from now on
Cause I'm wide awake to it all
Cause I'm wide awake to it all

Does anyone care it ain't right what we're doing?
Does anyone care it ain't right where we're going?
Does anyone dare justify how we're living?
Does anyone here care at all?

We could be so much more than we are
We could be so much more than we are
We could be so much more than we are

Oh this much I know
